How to Maintain Cotton Sarees:

 

Wash: While washing the cotton Saree the color might bleed so it is advisable to wash each one of them separately to avoid any bleed over.

When you wash it for the first time, use cold water and add 2-3 spoons of salt. Soak the Saree in this liquid for about half an hour. This will remove excess color and starch.

Do not wring the cotton Saree, gently squeeze the water out. Repeat the process with cold water and again squeeze out the excess water gently.

While putting it on the line, fold the saree in half and give it a good shake to do away with all the wrinkles on the Saree.

DRY IT OUTSIDE out of DIRECT SUNLIGHT.

Gently stretch the Saree from both the borders while it is on the line so that the there are less grains on the Saree while you are ironing it.

Iron: The best time to iron the Saree is while it is still damp. Fold the Saree in half and iron it along the length of it by setting the iron from medium to high.

Storage:  Store your cotton sarees in a dark and dry cupboard which is devoid of any moisture.

 

 

How to Maintain Silk Sarees:

What would one do if there would not be the process of dry
cleaning the Saree? The answer is to hand washing them with a little additional
care. Silk Sarees have to be either hand washed or dry-cleaned. If you have
planned to wash them home, there are few things that you have to consider while
doing that to protect the softness and color of the Saree.

Wash: You need to check whether the color of the Saree are bleeding or not by washing every corner of it.

Do not wash it with the detergent during the first time.

Use detergents after you are done with 2-3 plain water washes.

Use mild detergent for a quick wash. But do not soak your Saree
in the detergent.

Do not brush or lash the Silk Saree it will lead to tearing.

Do not bundle it and keep it wet for a long time.
